Like other obliqua forms, it grows in warm, humid rainforest conditions, where it climbs or creeps along trees in deeply shaded environments.

The name “Tiwintza” is not an officially described botanical name, but rather a horticultural label referring to this specific locality and form. Within the obliqua complex, this type is known for its very thin, delicate leaves and extreme fenestration, often creating a lace-like appearance with more empty space than leaf tissue.

What makes the ‘Tiwintza’ form especially interesting is its variation in leaf shape. Most commonly, it is seen as a narrow form with elongated, blade-like leaves and strong fenestration. However, there are also wider forms in circulation, which develop broader leaves while still maintaining the dramatic perforations that define obliqua.

As the plant matures, the leaves become increasingly fenestrated and more complex in structure. Some forms develop ruffled edges and pronounced venation, giving the plant a very refined and almost skeletal look.

Due to its rarity and delicate nature, Monstera obliqua ‘Tiwintza’ is considered a true collector’s plant. It requires high humidity and stable conditions to thrive, but when grown well, it becomes one of the most impressive and unique forms within the Monstera genus.

Our mature plant is shown on the first picture.

For optimal growth and to support its natural habit, place your Monstera obliqua ‘Tiwintza’ on a moss pole or provide a humid, stable environment where it can climb and develop its iconic foliage.

Happy growing! 🌿

Sold in 12cm pot

Shipping EU wide

[17
