Musa Basjoo (Banana for the garden)
Musa basjoo, the Japanese hardy banana, is a fabulous hardy banana, which when given rich soil and plenty of feed can reach 4 meters or more. The plant is root hardy, this means even if the main plant dies it will shoot baby’s in spring to grow again! When the main stem didn’t freeze in winter he will continue to grow in spring all the way up to 4-5 meters! When this size he can even give you small banana’s (unfortunately not edible).
(Yes I planted a few in my own garden hoping for big boy banana tree’s. – Max)
Every plant is unique, the plant you receive can look a little different than the plant on the photo!
