Monstera Croatii
€99,95
Monstera croatii is a rare and fascinating Monstera species, native to the tropical rainforests of Costa Rica, where it grows in warm, humid environments at lower elevations. Unlike most Monstera species, which primarily climb trees, Monstera croatii is unique because it can grow terrestrially on the forest floor and still reach maturity without needing to climb.
This species is especially admired for its elegant, deeply divided leaves. Instead of developing classic holes like many other Monsteras, mature plants form deep lobes that almost reach the midrib, giving the foliage a very refined and sculptural look. The leaves can grow quite large and often have a subtle blue-green tone, adding to its unique appearance.
Monstera croatii is considered extremely rare and has only relatively recently become known within the plant community. Its scarcity in both the wild and cultivation has made it a highly sought-after collector’s plant.
We do have a fully mature specimen in our greenhouse, which you can see in the first and last photo. It clearly shows the characteristic deeply lobed leaves that make this species so special.
For optimal growth, place your Monstera croatii in bright, indirect light with high humidity. While it can grow terrestrially, giving it support such as a moss pole can help encourage larger and more developed leaves.
Happy growing! 🌿
