Monstera Sierrana Brazil
€89,95
Monstera sierrana ‘Brazil’ is a rare and highly sought-after Monstera species, native to the tropical rainforests of Brazil. In its natural habitat, it grows as a climbing plant in warm, humid conditions, attaching itself to trees while developing impressive, fenestrated foliage.
Within the sierrana group, there are three well-known forms: ‘Brazil’, ‘Mexico’, and ‘Hawaii’. While they share similarities, each has its own distinct characteristics. Monstera sierrana ‘Brazil’ is the largest form of the three, producing the biggest leaves with large lobes and a notably round shape.
In contrast, the ‘Mexico’ form has a very different appearance, with leaves that lack lobes entirely and a flatter top edge, giving it a more simplified and smooth leaf shape. The ‘Hawaii’ form sits between the two, showing some lobing and variation, but not as pronounced or as large as the ‘Brazil’ form.
Because of its size, strong lobing, and rounded leaf shape, the ‘Brazil’ form is often considered the most impressive and desirable of the three, especially once it reaches maturity and begins to show its full leaf potential.
The last photo shows a fully mature plant, clearly displaying the large, rounded leaves and large lobes that make this form so unique.
For optimal growth and to support its climbing habit, place your Monstera sierrana ‘Brazil’ on a moss pole.
Happy growing! 🌿
