Monstera Sierrana Mexico
€89,95
Monstera Sierrana ‘Mexico’ is a unique and lesser-seen form within the Sierrana group, native to the tropical regions of Mexico, where it grows in warm, humid forests as a climbing plant. In its natural habitat, it attaches itself to trees and develops its foliage in shaded, moist conditions.
Within the Sierrana group ‘Brazil’, ‘Mexico’, and ‘Hawaii’ each form has its own distinct look. Monstera Sierrana ‘Mexico’ stands out for its smooth, simplified leaf shape. Unlike the ‘Brazil’ form, it does not develop lobes, and the top of the leaf remains flat, giving it a clean and almost minimal appearance. Compared to the ‘Hawaii’ form, which shows some intermediate traits, the ‘Mexico’ form is the most subtle and least divided in structure.
This understated look gives it a very different character, making it especially interesting for collectors who appreciate variation within the same species group. As it matures, it maintains this sleek leaf shape while increasing in size.
The last photo shows a fully mature plant, clearly displaying the flat-topped leaves without lobes that define this form.
For optimal growth and to support its climbing habit, place your Monstera Sierrana ‘Mexico’ on a moss pole.
Happy growing! 🌿
