Monstera Siltepecana El Salvador

24,95

Monstera siltepecana ‘El Salvador’ is a beautiful and sought-after form of Monstera siltepecana, native to the tropical rainforests of Central America, including regions like El Salvador. In its natural habitat, it grows as a climbing vine in warm, humid environments, attaching itself to trees as it matures.

This form is especially admired for its striking silver foliage. Compared to the regular Monstera siltepecana, the ‘El Salvador’ type develops larger leaves with a much stronger silver sheen and darker green veining. It also tends to grow in a more compact way while still being a fast-growing climber.

It’s important to note that “El Salvador” is not always considered a separate botanical variety, but rather a name used in the hobby to describe a more mature or selected form of siltepecana. In many cases, this label is used for plants that already show (or are close to showing) their adult characteristics, such as larger leaves and fenestrations.

Like the standard form, this plant goes through two distinct growth stages. In its juvenile phase, it produces smaller, silvery leaves with pronounced dark veins. As it climbs and matures—especially when given support like a moss pole—it begins to develop larger leaves and eventually fenestrations.

For optimal growth and to encourage those mature leaves, place your Monstera siltepecana ‘El Salvador’ on a moss pole.

Happy growing! 🌿
