Monstera Obliqua Suriname

Monstera obliqua ‘Suriname’ is a rare and highly delicate form of Monstera obliqua, native to the tropical rainforests of Suriname in northern South America. In its natural habitat, it grows in humid, shaded environments, often climbing along trees while developing its characteristically thin and fenestrated leaves.

The name “obliqua” refers to the species, known for its dramatic fenestrations and fragile leaf structure, while “Suriname” indicates the region where this particular form originates.

We do have a semi mature specimen, which you can see in the last photo. It shows how the plant develops with fenestrations when it climbs on a pole.

For optimal growth and to support its climbing habit, place your Monstera obliqua ‘Suriname’ on a moss pole.
