Monstera Standleyana “stardust”

24,95

Monstera Standleyana ‘Stardust’ is a unique and recently discovered mutation of Monstera Standleyana, a species native to the tropical rainforests of Central America, including countries like Costa Rica, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Panama. In its natural habitat, this species grows as a climbing plant in warm, humid environments, attaching itself to trees while developing its elegant foliage.

The ‘Stardust’ form is a special mutation that was discovered only about three years ago in our own nursery, found among the normal Standleyana mother plants. What makes this selection truly stand out is its stable variegation unlike many standard Monstera Standleyana Variegata forms, which often show inconsistent patterns.

This mutation guarantees highly variegated leaves with a beautiful, speckled “stardust” effect. Another major advantage is that the variegation is much less sensitive to browning. Where typical variegated standleyana plants are prone to developing brown spots on the white areas, the ‘Stardust’ form remains cleaner and more stable, making it both visually striking and easier to grow.

Monstera Standleyana itself is known for its compact, climbing growth and glossy leaves with natural speckled variegation, although it typically does not develop the dramatic fenestrations seen in other Monstera species. The ‘Stardust’ form builds on this by intensifying the pattern into a truly standout collector’s plant.

For optimal growth and to support its climbing habit, place your Monstera standleyana ‘Stardust’ on a moss pole.

Happy growing! 🌿
