Monstera Subpinnata

19,95

Monstera Subpinnata is a distinctive and eye‑catching species of Monstera, native to the tropical rainforests of South America, particularly in countries such as Peru, Ecuador and Colombia. In its natural environment, it climbs up trees in warm, humid conditions, producing deeply divided foliage that becomes increasingly dramatic with maturity.

This species is best known for its strikingly pinnate leaves once mature, the leaves develop long, narrow segments with deep cuts that give them an almost fern‑like appearance. These mature leaves can be very large and are a defining feature that sets Monstera Subpinnata apart from many other Monsteras, especially those with more broadly lobed or perforated foliage.

Like many climbing aroids, Monstera Subpinnata has two distinct growth phases. In its juvenile stage, the leaves may be simpler and less divided. As the plant climbs and gains height, especially when given support like a moss pole. The foliage begins to split and form the characteristic pinnate pattern that makes it so sought‑after.

For optimal growth and to encourage those mature leaves, place your Monstera subpinnata on a sturdy moss pole and provide bright, indirect light with consistently high humidity.

Happy growing! 🌿
